Holly Hines

Holly A. Hines is the Co-CEO and Founder of Happy Accidents, a new studio specializing in films, scripted and unscripted series, and formats. The studio develops, finances, produces and distributes global content, and has extensive experience with entrepreneurial structures, including treaty co-productions.

Hines currently serves as Executive Producer for the Netflix series phenomenon GINNY & GEORGIA.  In its first 28 days, over 52 Million unique subscribers completed the first season, and the series was in the Top 10 most Googled shows in the world with over 1 Billion TikTok impressions.  The first season went on to break the record for the longest consecutive days in First Place on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Ratings.  The second season premiered January 2023 and broke into the Top 10 Netflix premieres of all time, beating the premieres of STRANGER THINGS Seasons 1 & 2.  

Hines previously served as the Head of Network Development for Spotify Studios.  In her role, Hines was responsible for procuring all scripted fiction and unscripted content on the platform, which had a global audience of more than 248 Million monthly active users, and executed their implementation across Gimlet, The Ringer, Parcast and Spotify Studios.  Hines launched Spotify’s first scripted podcast THE LAST DEGREE OF KEVIN BACON with over 111 Million press impressions.  Hines managed the WB/DC slate of content, successfully targeting and recruiting David Goyer for BATMAN.  Hines utilized her professional network to form additional partnerships, including Archie Comics, Mark Duplass, Scooter Braun, Drake’s DreamCrew, Q Code, Audity and The Black Tapes’ Paul Bae.   

Prior to joining Spotify, Hines was SVP at Dynamic Television where Hines created the strategic vision and growth roadmap for content across the US, UK, Canada and Australian markets.  Hines formed and led a high-performing development and sales team that maintained domestic and international relationships with 20+ production and co-production partners, selling films and series such as Australia ABC’s hit TROPPO to domestic and international buyers, including Netflix, Showtime, NBC, YouTube, and Syfy.  Hines also oversees creative and production on GINNY & GEORGIA for Netflix (which just received a rare two-season pickup for Seasons 3 and 4) and oversaw VAN HELSING for Syfy (which went to 5 Seasons).  In addition, Hines was the creative advisor for scripts for 10+ shows in production, including MADIBA (BET) starring Laurence Fishburne & TRAPPED (Amazon/BBC Four/ France Television).

Before Dynamic, Hines served as Senior Vice President, Scripted Programming for Participant Media’s network Pivot where Hines managed the budget of $12M+ and oversaw the development and production teams.  Hines created new business models and financing solutions, leading to the co-production and development of original series including FORTITUDE with Sky and International Emmy nominated PLEASE LIKE ME with ABC.  Hines utilized her personal and professional network to bring in high level talent to develop content, including Tim Kring, Oliver Stone, Prestwich & Yorkin, Craig Pearce, Jeff Westbrook and Stanley Tucci.  

Other notable engagements include FremantleMedia North America, TLC, Bull’s Eye Entertainment, and Reveille.  Hines has developed, packaged and produced more than a dozen hit television series including NBC’s THE OFFICE, ABC’s UGLY BETTY, Showtime’s THE TUDORS, TLC’s TRADING SPACES, TLC’s AMERICAN CHOPPER, NBC’s THE BIGGEST LOSER, MTV’s DATE MY MOM, FX’s 30 DAYS, Starz’s CRASH and USA’s NASHVILLE STAR.  

A native of Louisiana, Hines is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, completed McKinsey & Co’s Management program, and holds an International Baccalaureate from Leysin American School in Switzerland.
