Prior to Happy Accidents, Jarboe served as the Chief Operating Officer of Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA).  At MPCA, Jarboe managed a variety of financial and creative aspects of all MPCA productions.  During his tenure at MPCA, Jarboe Executive Produced over 130 films and 125 episodes of scripted television.  In addition, the company grew substantially with Jarboe’s involvement, producing four hours of scripted content in his first year and 66 hours in his final year (27 Films & 12 Series Episodes).

Jarboe was responsible for all of MPCA’s corporate financial modeling and management, allocating over $120M annually, and had revised MPCA’s production budgeting process to reflect all ultimate costs and revenues to more accurately estimate returns and net present values of potential projects.  Jarboe negotiated agreements for A-list talent, intellectual property rights, agency packaging fees, and distribution with companies such as Netflix, Disney, Sony, Fox, Paramount, Lionsgate, Hallmark, Lifetime, Peacock, Amazon, CBC, Super Channel, Bell, and Corus.  Jarboe optimized MPCA’s production incentives strategy to increase domestic credits by 25% and increased Canadian distribution value by 500% and tax credits by 35% by implementing a framework to produce projects under a Canadian Content structure.

Jarboe’s additional financial responsibilities included the preparation of production budgets and ‘ultimates’ modeling for all film and television projects, in addition to finalizing the financing package for each project, including, if applicable, procuring loans against pre-sales, gap, and production incentives. Jarboe has performed these duties for productions that have shot in California, Ohio, Utah, Louisiana, Canada, England, Ireland, Switzerland, Romania, Scotland, Zambia, and South Africa, and has vetted budgets and incentives in other locales, such as Colorado, North Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Serbia. Jarboe was responsible for directly supervising a project’s production and accounting teams to ensure timely reporting of cost reports, trial balances, and incentive audits. Jarboe also managed MPCA’s corporate strategy and operations, including corporate cash flow, projections, tax compliance, and at times, publicity.

Jarboe recently consulted with the CEO of GAC, William J. Abbott, who previously led the Hallmark Channel for ten years to start two new cable channels: Great American Family and GAF Living. Jarboe created the financial model and investor presentation for the new firm, and, with Abbot, raised $135M to acquire two networks: Great American Country from Discovery and Ride TV. MPCA was the sole supplier of original content for the new entity, and Happy Accidents is the second.

Some of Jarboe’s producorial highlights include nine of Netflix’s first original Christmas films, including the franchises THE PRINCESS SWITCH starring Vanessa Hudgens and A CHRISTMAS PRINCE starring Rose McIver.  Jarboe also produced the DARROW & DARROW franchise starring Kimberly Williams Paisley, the FLOWER SHOP MYSTERIES franchise starring Brooke Shields, the CROSSWORD MYSTERIES starring Lacey Chabert, the MURDER SHE BAKED franchise on Hallmark starring Alison Sweeney, and the WEDDING MARCH franchise starring Jack Wagner.

In addition, Jarboe produced ten seasons of the #1 series on basic cable, WHEN CALLS THE HEART, starring Erin Krakow, and the spin-off series WHEN HOPE CALLS.

Jarboe’s creative responsibilities included providing feedback on script submissions, outlines, drafts, and cuts of commissioned material, and overseeing searches for showrunners, writers, directors, cast, and key crew on all MPCA productions. To date, Jarboe has developed and MPCA has sold projects with iTV, Netflix, Hallmark, Lifetime, Peacock, Amazon/Freevee, GAC, and Sony Television.

Jarboe historically consulted for Lionsgate and Sony on the possible acquisition of the Super Channel assets in Canada, providing the main point of contact on the financial model, and has consulted for Sony Pictures to increase domestic production incentives by 10% and lower production costs by 5%.

Prior to MPCA, Jarboe worked for three seasons in network television production on ABC’s CASTLE.

Jarboe holds a Masters of Business Administration with top honors from the University of Southern California, as well as a BA cum laude in Economics and BFA cum laude in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University. A Connecticut native, Jarboe is happily married and thoroughly enjoys his home in Los Angeles.
